What a direct connection requires

A direct ClawCall connection needs remote Streamable HTTP MCP and an OAuth client that supports discovery and registration. If the host lacks that, use a supported host or the server-side REST or skill fallback. Never paste an API key into a consumer chat.

How the twelve were selected

The list favors global reach and practical distribution. “Popular” is an editorial priority that balances disclosed adoption, independent cross-platform rankings, and whether the vendor publishes a usable integration surface. It does not claim that vendors report directly comparable global MAU figures.

Adoption evidence comes from vendor disclosures and Andreessen Horowitz’s cross-platform consumer-AI ranking. Setup claims come only from first-party product documentation. Documentation review is not labeled as live compatibility testing.
