Set it up with ChatGPT
Your missed calls.
Handled by your assistant.
Keep the number people already call. Ask ChatGPT to help set up ClawCall to answer when you cannot. It checks your account, helps write your assistant's instructions, and walks you through the right forwarding steps for your carrier.
Inbound answering needs Unlimited Reserve Plus and an active reserved number. ChatGPT currently requires Developer Mode, subject to account and workspace availability.

Help me make ClawCall my missed-call assistant, while keeping my usual phone number. Guide me one step at a time.
First read ClawCall's current calling guide and use read-only tools to check my plan, inbound settings, and active reserved number. If ClawCall is not connected, help me follow https://clawcall.dev/guides/chatgpt-mcp first. Inbound answering needs Unlimited Reserve Plus and an active reserved number. If either is missing, show me the right dashboard link.
Ask only for details you cannot get from my account, including my carrier, country, phone model, and which line I want to forward. Help me write my assistant's greeting and instructions. Show me the proposed changes and ask before saving. Read the settings back afterward. If a setting is not available through your tools, walk me through the dashboard. Prevent a forwarding loop by checking loop-in and any legacy handoff back to my forwarded line.
Find current official carrier instructions for forwarding unanswered, busy, and unreachable calls to my reserved number. Verify that they apply to my exact service. Explain any charges and how to restore voicemail before I change anything. I'll make the carrier changes on my phone.
Help me test the reserved number directly before forwarding, then test my usual number. Do not place calls, buy a plan, reserve a number, or change settings without my explicit approval. Never ask for passwords, API keys, or carrier account PINs.
ChatGPT helps with
Account checks, assistant instructions, carrier research, and checking your test results.
You stay in control
You approve changes, make purchases if needed, and enter forwarding settings on your phone. The connector cannot change your carrier settings.

Get the steps for my carrier
Have ChatGPT find the instructions for your exact phone and mobile service.
Continue my ClawCall forwarding setup. Confirm my carrier, country, phone model, and the line I want to forward. Use my active reserved ClawCall number, not a shared service number. Find and link current official carrier instructions for conditional forwarding, not forwarding all calls. Do not invent dial codes or use landline instructions for mobile service. Explain how no-answer, busy, unreachable, and declined calls behave on my service, including call waiting, Live Voicemail, and Wi-Fi Calling. A call that has ended cannot be forwarded. Check forwarding, airtime, and roaming charges. Help me record my current voicemail settings and the exact restoration steps first. Then give me one phone-side step at a time and wait for what I see. If official instructions do not confirm support, help me write a question for carrier support instead of guessing.
Check that it actually works
Use a second phone, then bring the results back to the same chat.
Help me verify my ClawCall missed-call setup. Start with a direct call to my reserved number from a second phone I control, before enabling forwarding. Then guide tests to my usual number for no answer, decline, busy, and unreachable where my carrier supports them. Check that loop-in and legacy handoff cannot send calls back to the forwarded line. I will place the test calls myself; do not dial on my behalf. Ask what happened after each test. Use ClawCall call history and any captured transcript to check the results, including which number was called and what the assistant actually heard. Do not treat a carrier confirmation or a successful network outcome as proof that forwarding works. If a test fails, help me restore voicemail before leaving the setup unattended.
Switch back to voicemail
Do this before changing or releasing your reserved number.
Help me turn off forwarding to ClawCall and restore my carrier voicemail. Use the settings we recorded earlier. If those are unavailable, confirm my exact carrier and service and find current official restoration instructions. Explain any effect on other forwarding rules before I act. Give me one step at a time to perform on my phone. Then help me test from another phone that my intended voicemail answers. Do not cancel my ClawCall plan or release my reserved number. Remind me that forwarding does not automatically fall back to voicemail if ClawCall is unavailable, and that routing must be restored before a number is released or could reach a future owner.
A few things to know.
- Your carrier decides which unanswered, busy, unreachable, and declined calls can be forwarded. A call that has ended cannot be forwarded.
- If your verified phone is the line you forward, keep Loop me in when needed off and remove any legacy handoff to that line. This prevents a forwarding loop.
- Forwarding usually stays on until you change it. Keep your number active, test before relying on it, and restore voicemail before you release the number. There is no automatic voicemail fallback if ClawCall is unavailable.
Carrier sources and manual setup
Ask ChatGPT to check the latest instructions against your exact plan and phone. These first-party sources were reviewed September 14, 2026, not tested on every service.
- Verizon: No Answer/Busy Transfer
- T-Mobile: conditional-forwarding codes and reset
- AT&T: wireless forwarding and charges. Ask support about conditional forwarding on your line.
- Apple: forwarding on iPhone. Conditional setup depends on your carrier.
